I was just looking over my contract with our photographer and it says that we have to pay the remaining balance the day of our wedding. I am completely worried now about this and cant believe I didnt realize it that day. Is this normal? I feel very uncomfortable paying a vendor - esp a photographer IN FULL before I see the finished product (albums, proofs, etc.) What should I do?

Re: photographer question
We have a portion due when we pick up the proofs, but prior to when the video and albums will be done. I would talk to them and tell them you're uncomfortable with this and can you restructure your agreement so that you can pay some portion of it when you get your proofs... how long ago did you sign the contract?

Re: photographer question
Most photographers ask you to pay the final payment when you pick up the proofs. We already paid our photographer in full.

Re: photographer question
My balance is due when I pick up my proofs........that's actually a little strange to me that they would expect it before.
