I recently had the honor to see a friend's proofs. She had quite a few but something caught my eye. Sometimes the photographer would take quite a few of the same shots from different angles or focus on an object like hands or her flower girl, different features etc. Is this common?
She captured her day in a sense but alot of the shots were repetative. I see some on here (not a bad thing) is this just a common style of photography? Or should every shot be different?

Re: Photographer styles?
I've seen a lot of shots too that focus on one thing...buttons on the dress, shoes, etc.. I actually love pics like that..it sort of sets the stage for the wedding. Most of the times when I see pics like that, they are from more photjournalistic/artistic style photogs.

Re: Photographer styles?
I actually like that style a lot. We specifically found a photographer that prefers that style and we asked for the absolute minimum of 'posed pics'. Our photographer shoots fashion models and works with a couple rock bands so there's no time for posing. His good shots come candidly. I can understand taking several of the same shots (quickly snap like 4 in a row) of people or posed shots to help ensure you don't get someone blinking, someone looking away, etc. But pics of shoes, buttons, etc. - they don't move so shouldn't be too many of them. I think the pics of shoes, buttons down the dress, table with the seating cards, the invitation are great pics. How many pics do you want of grandma dancing with grandpa.
