Photographer Suggestions

Hey everyone,

I haven't picked my photographer yet. I'm having some issues cause I don't really want a standard package thing. I would like the album (nothing too fancy), possibly two parent albums, and the proofs on cd/dvd and a bonus would be an online site for others to view/purchase pictures. I do not want bunches of extra prints or wallet size photos or thank you cards. I also want the photographer there for the church then maybe two hours shoot in between with family pictures and then another hour or so at the reception.

I feel like this should cost around 2k? Am I way off though, because also when I try to cut the 'package' things out the photographers aren't willing to come down much farther, I guess they all have minimum amts they are willing to do.

Any help or advice would be appreciated!

I think the albums are what makes things very expensive. We got a good deal with Thomas Paul cause we needed 3 parent albums FH's parents are divorced. I know you can know make your own albums with shutterfly & others like those sites.... I think 2K might be a low number though from what i've looked at

I recommend TP of course
but try
duet
Dan Wagner
Jeffrey studios

Try Thomas Paul. But I have to say albums cost alot. If you want to try to get such a price do away with parent albums and make them online. You can even o your own online as well.

Im using Right Angle and he has a package for $2100.00 and it includes him and an assistant for the whole day all proofs and a cd w/pics on it. We are doing that then after the wedding we will get our album w/ any extra money we have. FM me for other info cause there are other packages

My feeling is that you get what you pay for. $2000 seems a little low. After all after the wedding is said and done all that remains are the pictures. I highly recommend Riccardo Studios. Their work surpasses their reputation!

Re: Photographer Suggestions

well first ill say that whomever you pick should and will stay more than just for an hour of the reception, when hiring a photographer their packages always include an average of 10 hours for the day of. So they will be there for ceremony, time in between and reception, maybe leave an hour before it ends if anything but at least to be there for most of it.

Unfortunately albums can cost alot, the albums alone can range from high hundreds to $1k or so just for the wedding album and a few hundred dollars for parent albums. If you love the photographer you met with you can do without the albums and make your own if you want to use them and stay in the 2k range.

Otherwise meet with others who are in your price range. Definitely ask about the option of making your own album, like i said the albums alone, for lets say 3 albums like you want can cost up to $1k for all and even more actually for all 3

I know Duet has a package thats around 3K with what you are looking for. I personally think that 2K is low. You really do get what you pay for so you want to go with someone really good with a good reputation. I went with Duet and highly suggest them.

Thomas Paul does a great job when it comes to working with your budget, but that being said I do think that what your looking for is def on the low side..it doesn't mean that you won't find someone in that pricerange because there are photographers out there in that pricerange, it just might be a little hard to find them, and always be sure that they are reputable, there's so many horror stories wth missin pics..etc...good luck!

I think $2000 is a low estimate for what you are looking for. All of the photographers I meet with were willing to customize their packages to meet our needs even the most expensive company gave us the option to just pay for the photographers time and the albums. I met with Proline, Silverfox, Deja vu and Sherwood triart. I would recommend any of them...we went with Silverfox because they have style of photography we are looking for at a price that was in our budget.
