I'm just wondering what everyone is going to do. It seems to me like the tip should come after you see your photos and make sure that you're satisfied. What are guys think?
I tipped at the reception. If anything you can tip half at the reception half when you pick up the proofs.

I tipped at the reception, actually my Best Man tipped as soon as we got to the reception Hall because he knew he'sd be so drunk he's forget later![]()

My friend said she gave her photographer a very nice tip right before the wedding. She felt as if it set the tone for the day and they continued to thank her for her generousity. She felt they really did an extra special job for her and she was nothing but pleased..I think i will do the same, if u think about it, it’s worth giving the tip before, b/c after the pics are taken and are all done, the tip doesn’t really make a difference in their performance when they get it after.

My BM (BIL) actually passed put in the WM lobby and then puked in front of the coat room. It was a mess and WM was pissed. He had to leave the premise immediatelyHe probably will never live it down in the family!

I have to say...i tipped at the end of the reception,and dear god , i wish i had waited until i got the proofs! tipping before i saw the pics was the worst mistake. But, i may be the exception to the rule. Maybe tell the photographer you plan on tipping when the proofs come in? good luck!

i totally understand what youre saying, but seriously, if youre paying (on average) 3 THOUSAND dollars for 8-10 hrs of work, they should be doing That kind of work Already. JMO

I say give half at the reception and the other half when they finish everything.. A tip is to thank someone for their service. So at the reception , he is running around taking pix, so tip then as an appreciation for the hard work they do during the day. THen tip the other half after they put everything together for you.
I thought that I was being super generous, planning to tip lots of ppl at my wedding but I had no idea that the photog. should be one of them! it's his own company, does that make a difference? how much do I give? I'd do it toward the end of the wedding, I guess.
