I'm setting up appointments with some companies for when I'm home in July (I've moved to Florida, but I'm getting married on Long Island) and I'm not sure what the typical prices are, only one company would quote me over the phone and it was over $7000 which seemed a little absurd! So I was wondering if anyone would mind giving me an idea of what is typical?! We wanted a video, and then just one personal album, and two albums for each of our parents.

We are using Lighthouse for photo and Capture the Moment for video. CTM has their prices on their website (http://www.capturethemomentvideo.com/) and they also offer photo. They are very affordable. I've been following them on FB and they have posted such nice pics lately!
We aren't doing parent albums with Lighthouse, just the wedding album, but we aren't paying anywhere near $7000!
Most photographers I checked out for photo were about $2,500-5,000 for varying packages. We also don't live on Long Island but I was able to get a lot of general quotes over e-mail, just explain your situation and say your time on LI is very limited so you have to narrow it down ahead of time.
