Photographer: What about just getting digi images?

Photographer: What about just getting digi images?

Hey ladies,

I have a meeting next week with a representative from Bella Photos. Has anyone used them?

My main question is about digital images. I am thinking of paying our photographer to be there all day, but to just give us the dvds/ cds with our high-res digital images on here rather than paying them the 1000 dollars extra to make the album for us.

Are there drawbacks I am not realizing?

PS, I am in grad school for journalism and one of the things we are learning is photo editing. I have some professional grade software on my computer.

What do you all think?

Thanks!

We went all digital with our pictures. I have crap photo editing software, and I still replaced my eye in the first picture below (the eye on the right was completely shut in the original picture), and replaced my sister's head in the second. It's SOOOOO worth it (even though I've been a little aggravated with Picaboo lately). We spent $180 for 2
40-page 8.5 x 11 albums and 2 40-page 8 x 6 albums.
Ask Bella how much that would cost you through them.

This is becoming popular with people...and most photographers have a package for just taking the photos and giving you the images on a disc.

One of the main advantages of having the professional albums is the photo-editing that is done for color correction. If you know how to do it, then great!

Another advantage is that it's one less thing for you to do...you've spent so much time and energy during the wedding prep and most people want to sit back and enjoy doing nothing afterwards. But if you want to do this, then more power to you!

Finally, professional albums come with very fancy leathers and colors, etc...i don't know how pricey that would be for you do it yourself. Or if you don't care for that fancy stuff, do it yourself on shutterfly!

Hope this helps and good luck!!
