Ladies, What should you pay a photographer for a full day when he is not doing albums for you? I thought I could save some now by not having albums made by the studio. (You can always get them done later, when you recuperate from the wedding costs!) I am a big-time scrapbooker, I enjoy it sooo much, plus I figured my Mom and in-laws would appreciate the personal touch I put into their albums. Has anyone else purchased a photography package without professional albums being done by the studio?

Depends on who the photographer is. But I think the average I would say is less then 2k but for well known photographer it could something along the lines of $300 or more per hour

I have seen packages like this starting at around 1700 to about 2000.

You should pay no more than $1500 for a photographer for the entire day without the albums.

Just tell the photogs you're interested in that you dont want albums and see if they will work with you. My photog is giving me exactly the package I wanted.
I looked at photogs that charged between $1600 - $5000 whose style was casual and did less formal potraits. I would recommend Laura Ryan, Christina Bohn, Kimberly Hurst, and Lynn Spinnato (my photog).

My photographer, Cappy Hotchkiss, you don't have to use her to create the album. Her rate is 5k for the day of shooting and you get 1000 4x6 proofs, and CD with all the photos, plus negatives.

Mine is $2000 without albums but there are two photographers and you get a hi-res cd with up to 800 pics.

Hybrid Media Productions Noelle P. Wilson Jadore love 12 night
They all had packages that offer albums or pics on a CD. They are priced from low to high on my list. I am going with 12th night .

all depends, i know one photographer i looked at (and loved) was 8 grand and in the end you just got a disc, no album, no prints, no nothin.

There are a lot with packages that offer all pics on a high res CD for you to print your own, no albums, with all day coverage. You shouldn't spend any more than $1500 on this type package.

I am doing this, but not on LI. I am getting some prints and the rights to all images on an edited disk, and then I plan on making my own albums through blurb or something.
Mine is more than 1500, it depends on the quality of photography not just the package.

George at right angle studios does that ... even gives you 2 photographers ALL day ... 1 basic album. Give him a call!!

Check out Artisan Photography. That is what they did for me.

I'm using Duet...and I'm not getting albums. It greatly reduced the price plus I am getting printed proofs.
