Photographers

When you hire a photographer do you normally get two? I have seen some places where you have the option to add a photographer, so I wasn't sure. I think it would make sense to have two, right?

I don't think that you need to have two, but it's definitely nice. 2 were included in my package at Duet.

most pros will come with themselves and an assistant who will do lighting and take shots from a diferent angle.

i wont go with a photographer if he's the only one... u can miss ALOT of shots if ther's only one.

we had one photographer and 1 assistant (who didn't take any pics...she was just there for lighting and fixing my dress and making things go smoothly)..looking back on it, I kind of wish we had 2 people taking pics because while what we have is amazing there are a lot of little details and candids that we don't and I'd imagine this is fairly typical..there's only so much that one person can do in a given amount of time

I booked 1 plus a lighting person, but ive seen 4 and thats out of control. As a guest I couldnt even see them bride and groom and you dont want that. I would say if 2 but no more than that.

P.S I definitly would say 2 if you have alot of guests!

depends on the size of your wedding but i would go with 2 if you have it in your budget. worth it cause after the weddings over all you have is your pictures!

Hmm. I think even more important than the # of photographers is being aware of what you're getting.

For instance, my photographer was good, but her more photojournalist style which I LOVE meant that she really doesn't do poised, traditional pictures. I mean there are certainly poised pictures of bridal party, etc but not a ton - and none inside the church.

Looking back, I would have hire 1 photojouralist style photograher and one for just the traditional shots of family, bridal party, etc.
