Has anyone had experience with Patken Photographers? Around how much are people budgeting for photography? I have no clue how much to budget for each thing.

I heard of Patken. I actually went with Park Ave. Studio. My FH and I spent a little less than $5,000. on him. My suggestion to you is to splurge on what is most important to you and your day. MY FH and I agree to be a little more flexible with our money for our hall, music and photography. And of course my dress hehe.

Sorry I never heard anything about Patken Photographers. We went with Duet. I love them. Our package came to about $5000 but we have the works!!

YES FRIENDS OF MINE HAVE USED THEM AND THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB.
I KNOW VINNY IS SUPPOSED TO BE ONE OF THEIR BEST PHOTOGRAPHERS. I DIDN'T GO WITH THEM B/C I LIKED PROLINE BETTER BUT THEY WERE DEFINATELY MY SECOND CHOICE.

A lot of my friends used Patken also, they do a very nice job, avereage pricing

A few of my friends have used them too and their pics have come out really nice. My friends have either had Vinnie or Steve as their photographer. We went for an estimate (the prices were average) and were impressed with their work but not their sales style. Also, they told us we could not request a photographer, that the person would be assigned to us. I didn't like that. Everyone is different though so give them a shot.
As for budgeting for pics, the lowest estimate we got was $4K and they went up from there. I'm sure there are less expensive photographers out there though.

i am using patken for my wedding for photo and video. the whole package cost about $4500. you can fm me for more details of the package. they're worth checking out. it is correct, you can't really choose your photographer unless you specifically request the owner, Doug. my photographer is nick. i have yet to meet with him though.

For me it came down to Patken and Proline, I ended up booking wih Proline. I loved Patkens pics but when I asked to see a video someone was picking up it was horrendous. Before you book anyone ask to see an actual video not just a demo.

My suggestion is to consider looking into smaller photography companies. We're going with an independent photographer and spending under $3,000. And I don't think we're compromising quality.
