Photographers for around $3000 (for a full package)
I'm finally going to have the opportunity to get the Island in a few weeks and I'm going to need to do some crazy wedding planning.
I already have Duet on my list of photographers to see - what other photographers can I see.
I am looking for a package for ~$3000. I would prefer a mix of traditional and photojournalistic, two photographers if possible, no video necessary, parents albums ...
I'm sure I'm forgetting things, but can you ladies make some recommendations based on that? Thanks!
And heck - if you ladies can recommend good DJs that are under $1000, I'd appreciate that too!

Imagine is in the $4000-$5000 range and that is just for photo and you have to book photo and video through them.
For Photography you could also check out VIP.
For DJ defenitly check out Ralph from Hi-Energy he is a vendor on this board and his prices are about in your range.

You can check out my Budget Vendor page - lots of DJs on there. People LOVE High Voltage. Also try www.gigmasters.com. For photo, most of the people on the page don't really do albums, but Lina Jang, Peter Jacobsen, and Minnick photography do and might work for you, and 12th night I think.

Silverfox is ala carte, so you could put together a package with 2 photographers for $3000 if you get simple albums, but that's without reprints ( except thank yous) It's pretty flexible though. With oen photographer you cvould defitnely get a package for under $3000 & even upgrade your albums.

Question (I hope this isn't a stupid question)
When there is just one photographer - do they often come with an assistant? Does the assistant take pictures too? Does that count as a second photographer?

They can - mine does. I have the main photographer and his assistant, who will also be taking pictures. I have unlimited film, time and proofs too. I consider that a second photographer, but it's not the same as a full fledged second photograher I don't think, because the assistant will have to change film and stuff like that. But most of the time they'll be taking pics as well. You have to ask the photographer.

Mine were all separate. The assistant was optional & a seperate $150 fee. In this case he/she does not tkae pictures, we have 2 other photographers.

for photo pakten, i picked out a package with a small album, 2 parents and a bunch of reprints for under 3000...
for Dj, definately High Voltage.. he is priced less than most other djs i checked out, and vinny was so nice to talk with

TimeXposures in Patchogue. His prices range from $1,195 to $3,395. The higher priced package is loaded.
