Photographers good and bad

Marcia,

We are using Michael O'Neill. In the beginning of our wedding planning, I checked into many places by using the internet. That's were I fell in love with O'Neill's work. We went to check them out in East Northport and found them very professional and so accomodating. They stayed late just to answer all our questions. We sat with Kathy and were also fortunate enough to meet Michael, who will be shooting our wedding day.

We are using Imagine Studios for photo and video. We had them do an informal engagement shoot and were very pleased. They are very creative and well priced.

I forgot to add that one of the biggest reasons why we chose our photographer was because he offered no packages. Everything is offered on an 'a la carte' type menu, and we can pick and choose exactly what we want after we see our proofs. I loved that option beccause it offered the most flexibility.

Can you describe the package and price for Mark Kaufman?

ok, now i am on the yacht club thing - they are all on the water. they don't specialize in weddings usaully, but maybe we can bring in a caterer. what do you think? i went to barnes and noble and got an atlas of suffolk and nassau county. my task is to find all the yacht clubs, search the internet and visit the location sites. don't laugh, i know i am getting a little out of hand at this point, but i want everything to be perfect. if anyone has any suggestions of a yacht club, please let me know. 1 problem is i think many of them require you or someone you know to be a member.

thanks guys!

Thanks for answering my question.

Its sort of funny - b/c before I even read the rest of this (riddiculous) thread, I made an appointment to see Mark tommorrow because I liked the photos on his website.

I can assure you that I am a real bride (engaged in Jan 2001)- not a fake! If you doubt that, feel free to email me. I have posted many times on the Ulimateweddings.com board.

I can't say if the original poster I replied to was a fake or not but I think everyone here is a little over sensitive. Shouldn't I be able to ask a legit question without being attacked???

I dont think posters should be afraid to recommend vendors for fear that they will be accused - vendor recommendations are one of the most positive things that come out of this forum.

Stefanie,

This board has just been getting way out of hand. There are just too many paranoid people around here these days. They don't want to trust any post. It kind of makes you wonder why they even bother coming here at all.

Sorry Mark

When will LI Weddings have the 'Vendor Helping Brides' link connected? It has been on the home page for months, but the link doesn't work (at least it doesn't work for me).

I'm a bit sensitive to the subject since I've been falsely accused so many times. It is the accusatory tone that is so objectionable. I know that Tim is not a fake. Why make such an accusation? Why be so adversarial? How 'bout keeping the tone light and polite like you might if we were all actually speaking to and seeing each other? If I got too warm, perhaps I was defending Tim and others who do not deserve to be treated so harshly and rudely and sarcastically.

That sounds good to me!!!

Mary,

It doesn't work for me either, and I've been wondering exactly the same thing. It's been up there for sooooooo long.

Just My Thoughts-long

Actually the newlyweds just recenly had debate going on over brides to be posting over there with wedding questions. They argued that they are trying to maintain the integrity of the site. The same applies here to vendors who brazenly hawk their services. This is a brides helping brides website. Mark has been here for as long as I have been coming and I never saw him try to sell his services but I have seen him try to be helpful with any questions. I don't have proof that he didn't pose as a bride but I find it very hard to believe that he would. In general, he's very straightforward. Because we have seen other vendors stoop to this does not mean that they all would. If vendors came here and answered industry questions, I'm sure they'd be welcome but realistically that's not what salespeople do, they sell their product and I can't blame them for that and I expect it when I go shopping. But when I come on here to exchange with my peers and I get the salespitch (however they choose to do it), it gets away from what this site is about. This topic has been around for as long as I have been coming here which is about 10 months and it has been argued over a lot. I'm never surprised when it comes up again.

They're great! Go see 'em!

Re:ENOUGH ALREADY!!!

Im sick and tired of coming on to these boards and seeing such childish behavior. I come here to get good advice and plans for my wedding. My 2nd graders act more mature than this.

We were also looking into the Old Field Club for our rehersal dinner. We're getting married at Danford's in June. It is a beautiful setting, right on the water. But a little pricey. Where else in that area have you looked? Good luck!

No more Marcia

I give up. What ever happened to people just simply helping people out of the kindness of their souls, and people being open to suggestions without being so easily offended. This is so ridiculous. A complete no win situation for everyone because there always seems to be someone not happy with something.

inappropriate accusations

Mark,

I'm a little late to this ridiculous claim and infantile behaviour, but I just want to say again that I appreciate all your insightfullness on this board. Hang in there, cuz I know someone somewhere along the line will come after you again with lame accusations. Just remember that you comments here are appreciated.

Just My Thoughts

P.

This is just my personal opinion, but I personally like vendors who can offer advice like Mark has been doing. Who knows best about weddings then people who go to them every weekend of the year! Certainly none of us has the same experience as someone like Mark.
