Photographers (Sherwood Triart or JoVon)

I was hoping you could help me. I am having a hard time picking my photographer. I love the photojournalism but at the same time I am on a budget. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone used Sherwood Triart or JoVon and have any opinions about them? Right now those were two photographers we were looking at any suggestions would help right now though. Thanks!

but our wedding isn't until June. I haven't looked at JoVon either - so I can't compare. We picked sherwood because we felt confident with them and really loved their style. Good Luck.

I've seen the work from JoVon. They photographed my FI's sisters wedding last june. They did a wonderful job and the pictures came out really really nice but they are expensive. I was gonna book them for my June wedding but found out she paid like $6000 for hers. So I'm in search for another photographer that will do the same quality job but for less. Hope this helps alittle. If you don't mind spending then JoVon is the choice but I've never heard of Sherwood Triat.

Yes, they did but that $100,000 won't fit into my budget for photography. I think I will have to go with a cheaper package. ha ha They do incredible work though.

I am using JoVon for my November wedding. We are using JoVon and his team. I loved his style and his work the best out of the many photographers that I visited. He had the perfect blend of traditionalism and photojournalism. Some photojournalism shots are too weird for me. (I didn't see Sherwood Triat). I don't know what your budget is, but JoVon is very pricey. We splurged on our pictures because they are the only tangible things left after your wedding. Good luck.

Sherwood Triat

I guess I will buck the trends here. We visited Sherwood while photographer shopping and was floored with how much they cost. $10K for what I had found for half that! If you can afford their price tag and like photojournalism, I strongly suggest you look into some of the better known NYC photographers. Their work was nice but most of their 'photojournalism' is posed to look photojournalistic (they told me this after being asked). I was looking for a photographer to capture the day as opposed to posing me for the night. That being said, the composition of their photos are very good and the salesman was very honest and open about their style.

We booked Jovon. Three of my friends have used them and their albums and proofs are absolutely beautiful. Carol there is so wonderful and helpful and is great at matching you with teh appropriate photographer if you do not know who to . Yes they are expensive but it is the one decision that I feel really secure and happy about.

I`m getting married this Sunday 02/17/02!! We looked at many photographers before choosing Sherwood triart finally. They were a little more expensive than the others, but I loved their work. I`ll definitely post something after the wedding and once I get my proofs! Good luck!
