I don't know - the hand cancelling sounds like a courtesy they allowed you so the envelopes dont get all messy by their standard way of stamping...maybe it's not really part of someone's job which is why they put you to work on it...Good to know though - I'll keep it in mind and bring my fiance along(haha) The response card idea is a definite. Everyone swears by it. Thanks

Funny you just mentioned this...this just happened two weeks ago for me...
My invites were EXACTLY one ounce...therefore 33 cents. HOWEVER, I had a ribbon attaching the vellum to the cardstock, which created a 'bump' in the otherwise flat envelope.
