Photographer...sorry a bit long

Photographer...sorry a bit long

So in my efforts to be as cheap as I can I hired an old friend of mine to be our photographer. She used to be a professional but gave it up years ago when she had her kids. She has been out of the business for 10 years now and is very rusty, but she gave me an amazing deal so I really can't complain! I just couldn't justify spending thousands for pics, although I am sooo jealous of some of the amazing pics that I have seen on here! She wanted to do some engagement pics so she would have some practice before the wedding. She sent me a message the other day telling me how unhappy she was with the pics and she wanted to redo them. I was soooo upset. She sent me the link today and only a few pics are 'useable'. I just feel like they all all too posed and all from the same angle. I really don't have time to do more pics, the wedding is coming up fast. What would you do...find the time to do them again or just send her a list (with pics) of must take pics? I included a few pics to give you the idea. TIA for everything!

ITA.

she does sound that she's eager to work with you AND she is being honest with how unhappy she is with the photos. most photogs will NOT offer you to do retakes!

I agree- find the time to retake.
It will work out-
Plus the more shots you take the better chances you have at some coming out the way you want!!!

ITA, find time, even if its random.
also I think she should practice on random stuff... a friend of mine is a photographer, but paused a bit when she got married and had her son. she still takes pictures, but not usually artistic ones... until someone told her about
project 365 she's been at it for about a month now... and you can see how her pictures are getting better and better.

she plays around until she finds the perfect shot. she lays on the floor and shoots up, climbs on trees and looks down...

I think your friend just needs to find the right angles and lighting.

ITA! I think that if she seriously wants to get you some great shots at your wedding that she should go out and practice on other subjects!
