Photographer/Videographer

Do you think it is better to have the same company do both or get 2 different vendors??? I keep hearing different opinions about this.

It all depends...I am having one vendor (ADA) do both...I have family that had experience with them & they were great...I wanted to limit the number of vendors this way the last week before the wedding we didn't have so much running around

I just felt it was easier with one company because they work hand and hand. But I don't think it really matters to much

Kerrycec..Who did you pick? Did you use a recommended vendor from Villa's?

Im the other way with choosing a photographer and a seperate videographer.
I just feel that the photographer who does both isnt as good as someone who does 'only' videography.
I have seen some good work and majority of the time its due to a seperate videographer. Happens to be what I am going to do as well. Its just a whole different way of the work they do. A perfect example, Wild Rose video...amazing work!!!

I went with Patken and fell in love. They worked with our budget.

Most of the photographers contract out to other videographer's. Being the event planning business i have grown to understand this fact. I think if you like what you see from a photographer that also offers videography then go with them, if not it is perfectly fine to shop around for the best price and good videographer.

I am using different vendors, but it is just a matter of choice. I fell in love with Wild Rose Video's work and knew I wanted them right away.

Re: Photographer/Videographer

if i had a bigger budget i probably would have researched videographers more... but my photog offered me a great deal for video as well, so i went with him... i also like his video just as much as some other just video vendors... remember that when you choose to go with the same company, it isnt like you are hiring a photographer to video tape... usually the photagrapher hires a video person to come shoot your wedding... so, knowing that, i have no problem using the same company, plus it saves me a lot of driving trips to pick things up, make deposits etc

I think I am going to use the same for both for a few reasons.
1. Most vendors will give you a deal if you use them for both and saving money is always a good thing.
2. I don't really want an elaborate video, just something simple to remember the day with.
3. I don't have the time or patience to look at both photographers and videographers.

Hello,

I looked at places that offered both and video only companies. I think it totally depends on the company. I saw some package deals, but the video was not good and some that had AWESOME videos. I think you just need to look at both. It's almost always cheaper to get it from the same place because they have or can create a package.

I booked K & J for both. They have a person that specialized in video. Based on the examples I saw, I think the video will be just as good as if I went to an independant company. Good Luck!

We're using one vendor, but that's b/c I just found it easier.

We're using 1 vendor for both. The bonus is that you only deal with 1 studio.

Think we're doing separate. A few of our friends who got married all used the same videographer, and it was really great. We may do the same.

precious moment video in case anyone was interested.

We are going to start hunting for photographer and videographer over the next few weeks.. I guess it will depend on what we like and see and the $$.
