Photographer/Videographer

Has anyone used any of the following Photographers? If so, how were they?

Sherwood Triart Photography - Woodbury, NY
Fade to Black, Mineola, NY
********* Photography, Massapequa, NY
******** Photography, Westbury, NY

I need to make a decision soon!

Also if anyone knows of a great well priced photographer in the Nassau County, NY area, please let me know!

I went to Fine-Art and booked with Duet.

I LOVE DUET - we booked with Nick.

Fine-Art was a close second but they came in about $800 more for basically the same exact thing. Really just about style preference.

Good luck!

BTW, Duet is in Huntington about 2 miles east of Route 110 on Jericho Turnpike so not too far from Nassau.

I will definitely look in to Duet.

So far I have met with Silv*r Fox and F*ne Art and both seemed quite pricey so that's why I'm still doing my homework.

Thank you for your suggestions!

Photography was my most important choice and I am so glad I went with Artisan . Not only is the work amazing (A lot of what 'FA' photo advertises with was actually shot by Chuck), but they are so accomodating and nice. Also, Chuck has a great personality and immediately put us both at ease. Defintiely check out my e-pics . Those are just a few of many awesome ones (The rest are on Artisan's facebook page as well).

I used S I L V E R F O X for photography and videography and I would highly recommend them (Jodi was my main photographer and Ted was my photojournalist). I LOVED the work at Sherwood Triart but they were out of my budget

Re: Photographer/Videographer

I have to tell you I just had my wedding and had THE best experience with Gil at Fade to Black.

From the moment I hired him I SO KNEW I was in the right hands. We did a LOT or research and wanted the right person who understood weddings and would be able to so go with the flow. But he was also VERY professional, organized and on point from beginning to end.

But the Videographers style was VERY important to us!!!

Gil uses cameras that dont require BRIGHT ligts in your face (or the guests face). We did'nt want individual 'interviews', but we did want moments captured. We also loved the fact that he came from a TV background. He just got it.

But he listened to us, made suggestions and was like SO a PLEASURE to work with. He was never in our face all night. In fact we hardly knew he was there. He also worked REALLY well with our photog. They were always in communication with each other!!!

I cant say enough good things about Gil!!!! We cant wait to see the video, but KNOW its gonna be uber great!!!

Re: Photographer/Videographer

I went to meet the people at Duet this weekend as a couple of you suggested and I loved them. I think we are going to book with them. I picked team 'TJ' bc I love his attention to detail.

Thank you so much for all of your help girls!

What was your average quote for the photographers you've researched...mine was around 4750 and I am wondering if that is really high for both

Also..did anyone get taxed on thier photog?

It really depends on what you are having in your package. For just photo though, that seems high to me. I researched F*i*n*e A*r*t and Sherwood Triart and found them to be pricey as well, though they do beautiful work. We used Duet- Jay's team. I haven't received proofs back, but they were great the day of!

ETA: And yes, you will be taxed.

4750 included both video and photog

Re: Photographer/Videographer

I have received a bunch of different quotes from a bunch of different people....

Fine A*t was so expensive but i was completely confident that he would do a great job - I was pricing both photo/video together and i wanted 2 photographers - I think for both it was around $7200.

Sherw**D tri*rt i cancelled that appt bc i heard they were just as expensive as Fine A*t.

Perc*ptions Photography if you get a DEAL is around 7k.....

I think Duet was the best deal so far - they come in around $5600 for the package I wanted - (I upgraded some things) and yes they charge tax. However if you pay cash, they had said they would remove a credit card fee of like $250. So its up to you.

We also did Silv*er F*x which was about 7k with an HD video and 6k without the HD (which is definitely bogus in my opinion since some people said its a flip of a switch on a camera...)

Re: Photographer/Videographer

Went to see Duet but the owner was a bit sketchy...they are totally affordable...kinda pressured to sign with them...they wouldn't budge on the pricing...

We went with Photography by Verdis - awesome husband & wife team...

We went with Wild Rose Video, also awesome people!
