I was wondering since i am still in the beginning stages of wedding planning what photographyand videography prices are? Does anybody have some type of range because i really do not want to get ripped off by someone because i didn't do enough research. My RH's house vendors are ******** Photography, Patken, and Sherwood-triart. House vendors are free per head at my place but obviously if there is a better phtography vendor with better prices i would go elsewhere..so if anyone has any quotes and/or advice on any of these places and their price ranges i would really appreciate it! you could send FM or post right here..Thanks

Re: photographer/videographer quotes
Prices range GREATLY all depends on the company and the package you get. You wont get ripped off necessarily but some are more expensive than others but not that anybody will charge you more and not others just bc they feel like it. For example Sherwood triart is more pricey than a lot of other companies, but thats just their prices and mostly everyone would pay more for them than if they used somebody else. When it comes down to it, photographers can charge what they want, depending on years in the business, the experience they have and based on their popularity. Ive seen some photographers on here that are $1200-2k range which is a great price. But average i would say is $3k-5k. But there are some that are $6k-10k which is Sherwood's price range.
But also will depend what you get from them, whether you get both photo/video from them, albums, are you gonna get thank you cards, parents albums included, are you gonna add a 2nd photographer.

Re: photographer/videographer quotes
I would check out Golden Moments. That is who we are going with. They fall in the 3K-5K range for pics depending on what you want, but we found their pics to be amazing (they have great video too for about 2500) and we were comfortable talking with them for the entire 2hrs we were in their studio discussing what they have to offer. They were easy to talk to and really able to help us decide what was right for our wedding without pushing us into anything we didn't need.
Also, for cheaper pics (and video) with more stuff included, check out Duet. They weren't for us, but a lot of people do use them and their work was amazing as well.
When it comes to choosing my FH and I figured that it really comes down to...
1) can we afford this? (maybe cut back somewhere else?) 2) is this company / the products we are getting worth the price they are asking? 3) Do we like the style? 4) will they work with us on the packages? throw stuff in maybe? 5) do we have rights to the pictures (this was important for us) 6) do we feel comfortable with them and can deal with them for 10hrs on our wedding day?
hope this helps

I think the average price for photo/video will range from $4-$7k...some will be higher...some lower.
Keep in mind thatthe photos and video are all you have left after you spend a fortune on the wedding...so I wouldnt skimp on this vendor.
Also find someone that you feel comfortable with, as they will be with you ALL day.
I highly recommend Imagine Studios. They do amazing work, are really nice and their price is pretty good...not the lowest...but not the highest...and i think they are worth every penny from girls' photos I have seen. www.imaginestudios.com if you want to see their work
