Like I said in a previous post I have began the hunt for a photographer and I need serious help!
Anyone find any great places with decent/resonable prices? Help is severely appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I am using Sal-mar which is in Brooklyn, $6000 for photo and video

We didn't book with them but Patken had reasonable prices. Try Sherwood Triat. We wanted photojournalistic pictures and if you want that, it will cost. Good luck.

We are going with Patken - they worked with us to create our own customized package - great because our needs don't fall within the usual packages that are offered by most places...it also saved us money! After taking the e-pics I am so glad we booked with them. Definitely worth checking out! I hightly recommend based on my experience so far! Good Luck! Let me know if you have any questions.

Well, my sister actually got married August 2001 and used Patken.
My uncle is actually friends with Ken (owner) and she was rather disappointed with the final results for numerous reasons. If you want me to get into it I will, but only upon request HAHA.
I have a couple of appointments in the next coming weeks, one with Dan Wagner Photography and another is with North Island Photography. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping something works out.

Myself, and many others on the board, use Duet. They have a variety of packages and are fairly resonable (at least compared to other places i looked at).

we are going with perceptions - theyre a little pricier i guess but theyre my wedding photos!!! we were also thinking of duet..... huge price diff

I'm using Perceptions as well--www.perceptionsphoto.com. You can customize your package as well, so if there are things included that you don't want/need it might cut down the price.

We went with B rett M atthews. They are a little more $$$ but use photojournalism which we wanted. We figured if we are going to splurge anywhere, it will be on pictures. Our engagement pictures came out well and those who I know who have used them had raves. Good luck!

I just booked with Silverfox - package was just over $3,000. I got 2 photographers and will end up with at least 1000 pics! Engagement session also.

We found Duval to be the best, most reasonable, and friendly. They totally worked within our budget, and WHAT WE wanted in a package. (they're in Wantagh)

We're using DUET. It has great reviews and its so reasonably priced. That was the first and only vendor I went to for photgraphy/videography.

Do you mean you are getting at least 1000 proofs? How many are going into each album?

It all comes down to who you feel comfortable with. The photographer my sister used didn't make me comfortable even though my fiancee loved him. The best advice I can give is to go see their work and talk to the staff and people who have used them. Ask for a list of references of at least 3 month intervals apart. Look at all the proofs and final pics on here. We went with Duet even though we went to see Sherwood, and Imangine also that day. Each vendor will offer some little things that will seperate them apart in your mind. For me and our vendor choices I knew within the first 5 minutes.
We are going with Duet. If you know anyone else who is getting married and looking for vendors see if they can give you extras or lower the price if you both book. I went to most of my vendors with my sister.
