Hi ladies! I'm looking to find out about how much your photographers (and the ones you met with) charge for the following:

Engagement session (if it's not included in your package)
How long did your session last?
How long after the session did you get your proofs?
Were your proofs on CD/DVD or were they posted
online somewhere?
Was retouching included and if not, how much?

How much does your photo charge for a wedding day shoot only with no albums or anything like that?

We have a friend in New Jersey who is looking to get into wedding photography and he was interested in prices out here on LI. We only met with a couple so I don't even have a good idea.

if your friend is new at the wedding photography business, then i would look at photographers who are also just starting out. Usually when you are new and havent done alot of weddings you start off with a lower price. People are not going to want to pay lets say $4k if you havent had as much experience. Then the following year after he starts he gain raise prices and do it every year, as he gets more experience. So also keep that in mind when people post prices for their photographers and whether this photographer is in the business for a long time or not.

the session was an hour but we went a bit over like an hour and a half maybe, and it was an outside location that i was able to pick
I received my proofs about 2 weeks after
The proofs were on a high resolution disk
She posted a preview of 8 pics on her site
re-touching was included
