2 questions:

1. My FBIL married May of last yr. There photos are stunning!!! I mean just beautiful! My family feels I should not use the same photographer because we will be posed the same & things like that... is that ridiculous?! Isn’t that like using the same DJ.. Does that really matter?

2. The photographer is quoting me $2200.00 for a full day of coverage, with 1 photographer, all proofs on CD with rights to print and a proof book. Is that to much with no albums? This is for a excellent photographer.. And I know what I’m getting in the end.. my FBIL went all out and spent $7k!! I want to make my own albums so as of now I don’t need them....

Why is there a problem with using the same photographer? You can tell the photographer to do different poses. As far as $2200 without album, it's a good price if you are doing the album yourself. I would go for it!

Re: Photography

I'm using the same photographer as my cousin BECAUSE I liked her pictures, poses, etc. Plus, you will walk away with hundreds of proofs. You don't have to like the same exact poses. AND, how many poses can any photographer think of? Even if you use someone else, you will have the same/similar poses. I think that reasoning is flawed.

you ladies are GREAT! I love the honesty! I feel the exact same way... just wanted to make sure I was not loosing it...

well I think I will make my own choices and stop listening to everyone… I didn’t see what the problem was to start…

And I guess $2200 is a good price

Re: Photography

i think if you like the photographer you should use the same one. You can request different poses and its a different venue so the pictures will be different.

I think its a great price.

I think that's an excellent quote. You should def go with a photographer you feel comfortable with and you really love their photography so go for it. Besides, a lot of photographers use the same poses so it wouldn't matter if you chose a different photographer some of your poses might look the same as your FBIL any way.

I'm using Duet because my sister used them and I loved her pictures. I'll just make sure I dont get all the same posed shots but honestly that wouldnt bother me.

I'm using the same photog as my sister b/c her pics were great....

The only thing I can think of though is to make sure the photog has done other events at your RH so that they know the good locations and how to organize everyone.

Having a photographer that takes the same exact poses?

I mean, do all your photographer's sample albums have the same exact poses in them for different weddings? Is that really the case?

Some photographers may be like that, they go through a pose sequence putting every bride through it. But some are more creative and actually get ideas at that moment depending on the light and backgrounds and all that stuff.

That's why I LOVE my photographer! He's really artistic. Hope yours is too!

(and tell you family that when they get married, they can choose whatever photographer they want).

if this is a photographer that you LOVE then who cares who used them!

I dont know why there would be a problem. If you love their work go for it. You will have these pics the rest of your life. and 2200.00 is a great price!!!

Re: Photography

That's silly - use the photographer if you love his work. The best way of judging a photographer is by seeing is work.

We're using the same photographer as one of my friends and 2 of FH's friends. We both love their pictures so why wouldn't we?
