Photography, ARGGHHHHH

Hey girls!!

I've been researching photography all night and now I'm all dizzy cuz the pics look all the same. I cant tell good quality for bad quality.

These are the photographers that I've looked into. Anyone have any good or bad comments?

Spellman Studios
Patken Studios
VIP Studios
Artisan Photogroup
Duval Photography

THANKS

Patken Studios
VIP Studios

I heard they were good.

I used Marcos Photography. He was great with great prices too. He is a vendor here so you can get all his info.

i am using fine art photography. i like their work. girls on this board are big patken fans. not sure about their pricing. i met w/ vip studios - what did you think?

i also met w/ artisan- you get good deals with him since he's on his own. did you meet w/ that video guy he shares an office with? i like the artisan photo guy. my mom's friend used him and loved him and the pictures.

i felt the same way as you did.. but when you go into the places, you see how comfortable you feel around these people, and if you visit them within a shorter period of time you pick out the little differences..
i picked patken, i loved there work and they were the fourth place we looked at..
we almost booked with vivid photo until we saw them..
we also checked out VIP, there are plenty of nice wedding pictures on here that girls posted from them.. but he just wasnt my style, when he showed us the a sample album one of the pictures had most of the nipple showing above the dress.. that was a turn off, and i think they use 35mm film instead of the photographers film cause i saw a bunch of cvs type photo developing packs... all things that wouldnt have bothered me that much, but 10 minutes later we were at the next photographer and noticing the difference..

you may also want to check out ' gray studios' very nice.. but a little more money

Patken expensive, but awesome quality. I'm not sure if I liked the guy I met either.
I am checking out Artisan, and Duet.
I really believe that not only do you need to have good photos but you need to click with the vendor too. It was like that for my hall and Dj at least. Good Luck... Let me know how the others on your list are!

I don't think patken is expensive at all... and i've compared prices and i'm getting the most from them for less money than the other places.

Natalie,

We are getting married the same day!! I met with a lot of photographers and chose Christine form Spellman Studios. I would call them and see if Carol is available for your day before making an appointment. Once you start meeting with different people you will get a feel of how they are and if you feel comfortable with them. We really liked Christine and how much she pays attention to every detail. Good luck!

Re: Photography, ARGGHHHHH

Thanks all for your help

I definitely have to get into the office and look at the work in person. I went to proline today. I liked their work but I thought it was slightly on the higher price. Is it possible to get packages in the range of 3000-3500 for both photo and video?

PATKEN!!!

LOVE THEM!!

I didnt think they were expensive at all. They also threw in a lot of great stuff.

I had a fantastic experience booking with them and I cant wait to use them on my wedding day

One thing you need to define is what are you looking for? I mean, what style do you want?
Do NOT only go by price either. You need to find WHO you want to shot your wedding and then work on what you get for your budget. Also with video- I found that the independent video vendors were A LOT better in terms of quality of work, then the photographer ones. JMO.

You are going to find an overwhelming majority of us are Patken girls and with good reason. Ask for Steve or Vinny!

Re: Photography, ARGGHHHHH

Those that have used Patken. I was looking into them and it seems they have 3 locations. Does Vinny or Steve located at only one office and are they the photographer?

I am close to the mineola office. Does it matter which office I go to. My wedding is at the Watermill.
