What is an average amount to budget for wedding photos including engagement photos? We don't want a video. Photos are really important to me and I have planned to budget $4000 and my FH flipped out and said that sounds like too much. I though it sounded like not enough.
I want my photos done right. My MIL who's paying for nothing anyway said that's rediculous and we should find a student. Our friends usted a student and their pictures are (for the most part) horrible and they are never going to have a chance to take them again. My parents wedding photos are really bad too and I do not want to look back after 25 years and be sad about my wedding photos, like my mom is.
We are planning on having our budget figured out very soon because we need 2 years to pay for it all. I don't know what anything costs.

If you're not doing video, $4,000 is more than reasonable to budget for photo depending on your package.

4K is more than enough for photo no video, and I've looked at photogs on the expensive side of things. We have a budget of 2500 for photogs.
Expensive does not always equal good quality. FH and I were just talking about this. Yes the pictures and video are important. Yes, we want them to be beautiful and stupendous.... but in the end... they're just PICTURES. Once our life gets started... I know the album will be put away and dusted off once in awhile... and looked at, but it's our MEMORIES that are inspired by those pictures and that video that are important.
A lot of my friends have been married for quite a bit, most of them don't even know where their wedding album is

That is more than enough for a great photographer, imo. Most really great photographers are around that number (3000-4500 i would say). But you can deff still get a very good photographer for only 1500-2500.

I think you could definitely find a good photographer for $4,000. I am paying $3800 for my photo and that includes engagement photos and parent albums. I don't think you will have a problem

I think you will be able to find a great photographer and get lots of prints and albums with that budget with some money left over. I believe pictures are really important so I have to be on your side by wanting to pay more for something that your going to have for the rest of your life.

Thats a great budget!! I know a lot of photographers you will be able to get for 4k without video. We are paying before tax 4500 with video

Fh said the same thing when I told him our budget was $4k. Then he saw what the price was everywhere we want and it ranged between $3500-$5000. We ended up paying $3800.

i am paying around 4k for just my photography so it is doable! you can also get it for a lot less if you dont want that much in your package

Wow I feel alot better now! We aren't having limos, and my dress and veil were free so thats why I could have more in other areas. We are getting married in the hall and our parents are driving us there. We decided it was pointless to sit in a limo to drive to the hall. We will take our own car to the hotel after/ get a ride and my parents are taking us to the airport for our honeymoon.

09 crashing....I am paying just over 4k for 2 photogs and video 1 album and all my photos on CD and 1 large print.....oh an epics. SO you can get everything you want for 4k.

ur nutzzzzz 4,000 and no video? wow... last yr my best friend got maried and i found a photographer for her withhhh video and 2 photographers it was 3,000 and they were with us all day getting dressed till the end people leaving.... n the pictures were aswome

fh and i are figuring between 2500-3000...we really cant go much more expensive than that, I would prefer it to be like 2000, but thats not gonna happen...

IMO if you paying 4k you better get everthing becasue if thats all ur paying for a photg then ur getting ripped off !!

i received a large brochure in the mail from ThePros. they have a website & both the brochure & website offer a lot of pricing information for photo, video & dj's. i think the info is really good even if just for comparative purposes.
