Photography Cancellation Question

My girlfriend booked her photographer and has had a change of heart. Does anyone know if you can cancel your contract? If so, do you lose your deposit.

She needs to look at her contract to see. One Photographer may be different that the other on this subject. I hope that I helped you a little.
