I have met with several fotogs and got dramatically different quotes for different packages.
It's something I am willing to spend on but want to know whether or not I am being taken for a ride.
Would you guys be so kind as to let me know the cost of your photo package and what it includes specifically (albums, # fotogs, engage photoshoot, proofs, hi-res pics, video etc)? I know it's a lot to ask but it would really help. PM me if you feel more comfortable?! And if possible can you let me know who your booking is with (if it's a well known group).

5K and I got the BIGGEST PACKAGE.... 2 photographers a videographer HUGE album for bride and groom, parent albums, engagement shoot, albuym of 500 proofs.. DVD of over 1,000 proofs.... that's the package i got.. and im soo excited

This is my first post, just got engaged (total newbie)! I want to get an idea of how much a photographer and/or videographer would run, pref Brooklyn, Staten Island or Long Island? Want to make sure I don't end up overpaying.

i got a great deal....one album, 2 photographers plus assistant who are available for 24 hours...1200 including tax...all images on DVD w/ no marks

i think average is between 2k-5k...there are some you can find for a little lower and some that will be a little bit more.

we are spending 5k I think. And its the smaller package. We booked with Andreas Rentsch. He has beautiful work!
Also check out www.wpja.com. Its the wedding photojournalist association. They screen people before they can join and they have to be selected to join- they dont just let anyone on there. So its a good resource to go to. And they have people in all different price ranges!

We spent 3500 but got quotes up to 6k!! We had an engagement photo shoot with 1 album, 2 photog's on our wedding day, 3 parent albums, 100 ty cards, all digital pics on disc so we can copy & do what we want to them & our album which I should get by Friday!! YAY

$4000 here
1 album with i think 40 pages in it. a couple of blow ups printed proofs engagement photos (which came out FANTASTIC) online proofing as well

We went with Deja Vu studios and were quoted at $5K for photography and videography. I think that they do beautiful work.
Photos 1- 9 X 12 75 picture album (magazine style) 2- 5 x 7 24 picture parent albums 1- 11 x 14 3- 8 x 10 125- TY 10- 5 x 7 all proofs and a high res dvd of all proofs
and some other things
We also get 3 DVDs of the video

I am very picky about photographers and want quality (non cheesy). I looked over 100 websites and and my cousin, who is a pro-photographer help me. I am using Katie Lyman and she is awesome to work with. We are paying around $4300 for:
10 hours of shooting 2nd shooter touch ups on all proofs 700 proofs printed cd of all proofs 1 album - 60 images 2 parents albums engagement session $200 in print credits to use toward thank yous
I also went to **************...they goood but are $4300 and do not give you rights to your photos which is bull.

Some photographers are going to be much more expensive than others, but IMO, photography is the one thing we were willing to splurge on.
I want to LOVE my pictures. Those photographers that take exceptionally well photos are more in demand and will charge a little higher. . . because they can
That being said, I'm using Thomas Paul (love him) and if anyone wants to know the details of what my package includes and the amount, FM me and I'll share. It includes A LOT, and I think its completely worth every penny!
