I would definately say in many cases in photography you get what you pay for. To make you feel better we are spending close to 6K for our photography only. And I think its worth every penny.
If photos are really important to you, I'd go with the photographer whose work you really love and try to scrimp in other places. Pictures are really important to me too, so we went with a pricier photographer whose work we loved, and we're going to try to save money in other areas. Go with the photographer whose work you loved, whose work really touched you.
It depends on how many proofs you want, how many photos you want in the albums and the type of album you want. When you know what you want from seeing what different photographers offer then you can figure out who has a better value. Good Luck!
