I am going to visit a couple of photographers tomorrow and was wondering what the usual deposit is? And the form of payment usually accepted?
I've met with a few, and they are usually 10% and or 500$- and then I know Studio 27 is $1000. Most places can take a CC, but may charge a surcharge and then cash or check. You may be able to negotiate a cash discount (essentially cash no tax - but since they have to charge take its the same % discount)
I am sure they accept checks, credit and cash. We have 2 installments. First installment paid day of date we agreed with them and the second installment is either paid on or before the wedding day. Would not really know what percentage is required but I think between 1500 - 2000.
We gave a $500 deposit. It definitely varies.
We had to leave a 20% deposit which was about $900 for us and the remainder is due on the day of the wedding (we'll be paying it beforehand, I don't need to be worrying about payments on the day of). Some places were 10% some were $500. It all depends. And most take any form of payment, but we're paying cash so we can get a '8.625%' discount lol

it varies. we gave a $700 deposit and did 3 other equal payments. 2 before the wedding, 1 after when we get our proofs
