My mom took pics with her camera and a few came out blurry. You can see our face shapes bodies but no nose, eyes and so forth. Is there any way I can get the pics to come out clearer? I have PhotoShop at work I play with but I am not an expert. Also, can I take the negatives somewhere and see if they can do something with those pics to clear them up? Or possibly just the pic itself so they can scan and touch them up for me? Thanks!

I know nothing about computer programs but as far as the negatives and the actually photos unless it was blurry from blowing it up - there is really nothing you can do b/c it means you moved the camera when you took the photo.

That is what I thought. FH says my mother was rushing to take the pics so she may have been moving around as she was pressing the shutter button. It bothers me b/c these are all the pics I had with my family that came out blurry. I can tell their body shapes and now who is who, but you can't see their faces.

I could be wrong, but I dont think there is a way to make a very blurry shot not blurry. But you can do stuff to the photo to make the blur look more attractive or even intentional. That way its an artistic view of your family instead of a blurry photo.

Photoshop has the ability to sharpen a slightly blurry picture, but its effectiveness will depend entirely on how much movement there is in the image. As you describe it, I'd say there's probably nothing you can do to fix it, but like Stef said, there are other things you can do to make it look like the blur was intentional.

Stef that I don't know how to do that in PhotoShop. Does anyone know of someone that can do this for me? I would ask my designers but they are busy doing some of my work.
I hate my parents camera. It did the same thing to me when I went to a wedding. My camera doesn't do that and mine is ALOT cheaper than theirs.

Wanda - it may not be the camera - it may be the picture taker's technique. If the camera is not held steady, or is moved too soon after snapping, the photo will come out blurry. All cameras are different. Was it a point-n-shoot (auto focus)? Or manual focus? What was the lighting like? Were you guys moving while Mom was trying to take the pic, or standing still? Did the flash go off? Was it a digital camera - sometimes the digital cameras have an even longer delay than a regular 35 mm. But, all of these things are factors that could effect the quality of the image that you end up with.

Claud you lost me! I have to keep reading your post. We were standing still and my mom kept calling people up to our table to take pics with. So FH thinks she was the culprit in all of this. Mom must have been snapping and moving the camera quickly after that. I know her camera has one of those 1 second or more not sure, freeze type of things then it shoots the image. Not sure if describing it correctly. The lighting was dim but my table camera pics came out good when we had shots taken from our dais. So I don't think it was the lighting. Her stupid camera ALWAYS has the flash going off. That is how my pics from my friends wedding came out all wacky looking.
