I just started looking for a photographer and need some help. I am looking for a photographer who does is both traditional and journalistic. I want to make sure I get all of the important traditional shots but I also like the look of a lot of candid pictures. Does anyone have any recommendations and any idea of the cost? try this....i love him, he does everything and his prices are really really good! When we found him, we booked him the first time we met, we knew he would be perfect for our wedding!
Don't have the cost on me, will FM you when I get home with more information.

We used art-istic images from bohemia. Artie does all the traditional shots and we got a 2nd photographer through him for the photojournalistic shots. We paid about $3500, but we booked him in 06. Not sure what his prices are like now. GL!!

I'm using Erica Lyn and she does both photjournalistics and traditional. FM if you want more info.
Most photojournalist wedding photogrpahers will also do the requested portriats. Just ask them!
ETA: I used Andreas Rentsch and he is a F ine art (for some reason this comes up as *** but its not a bad word- just his style of photogrpahy...) photogrpaher and he captured all my moments as they were really happeneing as wellas getting all the group shots I wanted.

I am going with Joanne Rempe. I met with a couple of people and she was reasonable and my FH and I liked her best. She does traditional and has other people on staff to do photojournalistic. A friend of mine went with her for her wedding and she loved her work. Another thing I liked about her is she was not at all pushy, she is there for you and will work with you so you get what you want. Hope this helps

I used Thomas Paul....Highyl recommend him..He did more of the posed shots and i had a second photographer who did the candid shots...def check him out

Be careful with the term photojournalism b/c some vendors will say that they do it but they dont truely know how. Like ADA --my sister really wanted photojournalism and they said they do it. But really all they did was take the same pic as the traditonal but in black & white or sepia print! She was very frustrated about this. Make sure you check their sample albums and know what you are looking for in advance.

that is true. There is a difference between someone who is a photojournalit that also does weddings and someone who does that style. ust make sure you see lots of examples of work and make sure you like what they do.
