I am starting the photographer hunt and just wanted to know if any of you know how much is typically spent on a photographer?? I know many have priced packages, but do you know if photographers are willing to work with you if you have a budget? (Say maybe eliminating an engagement shoot or parents album to cut cost?)
Any suggestions for photographers would be helpful! I am looking at benchwerk and Lovemore photography as of right now.

I'm paying 6K for photo and video & I was happy with that. I feel like it was fair & I was confident in my photographer choice.

Thanks! Yeah I'm sure a lot of the same threads pop up haha I will check it out. Photography is just so expensive ! It's unreal but I guess when you live in NY that's the way it goes!

Photography was where I was flexible with my budget. To me, it was the most important vendor because it's one of the few things from the wedding that will be with you forever. I also didn't want to go broke! All of my quotes are outdated (2012), but I found that Thomas Paul and Fade to Black did really nice quality photos and worked within your budget for the items you want.
We booked with Fade to Black. Gil was so good with working in our budget and we loved the photos and video samples on his website.

I am paying 3k for photo and video. I was so impressed with the caliber of their work, the amount they were willing to give (2 photographers, 8 hours, 3-5 minute quick video for sharing, 60 minute video, all images are mine to do what I like, such as printing on my own, plus a coffee table book.) I couldn't believe all of that was within that price. They were very willing to work with our needs-- they really have a 30 minute video as part of the package but upgraded us as soon as I mentioned that. Hi I booked mine for a really great price that I could not say no. I got both photo and video. for the entire day for under 5k. Its El SSol productions. Definitely give them a call. They do work with your budget
