I am brand new to LI Wedding and was hoping I could get some opinions on the two photographers/videographers I am debating between. Duet did my sisters wedding almost 10 years ago, and did an amazing job. However, I have been doing some research and the reviews do not seem that stellar as of late. The other main contender is JayLim. I love their style and was impressed with their work when I met with them a few weeks ago.
Anyone have any strong recommendations or feedback one way or another? Thanks!

I haven't started looking for photographers yet, but I spoke to someone recently about Duet and Jay Lim. Jay Lim used to work for Duet before he branched off to form his own company. A bride I spoke to who had Jay as her photographer when he was at Duet said that she LOVED him, but the company gave her a really hard time and she was really unhappy with the way her album came out since their photographers don't do their own albums.. they're done by an assistant in the photo studio. Just something to keep in mind and maybe ask about.. again, this was a few years ago so things may have changed since then. Good luck!

A coworker of mine used Duet for her August 2012 wedding and still has not received her albums. She was told they would be done this past fall but they were not. The pictures I saw from her wedding were beautiful so I can't say anything bad about the quality of their work.

My FH and I went with Lighthouse Photography. They offer many packages and really work with your budget. My FH and I knew with this particular vendor we would pay a little more but they really work with you in regards of what it is you want and work with you in regards of packages.

We booked Jaylim for our wedding and this is probably one of the vendors I am most excited about. Like you, we loved their style and were very impressed when we first met with them. We had our engagement shoot with Kevin back in December and it went great. We loved the pictures, we loved Kevin and had the pictures back in a timely manner. They told us two weeks, and it was two weeks on the dot when we were notified they were ready.

We ended up booking JayLim and we are really excited about them!

I met with Duet, Silverfox, and Patken today and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with Patken. They offered the most for the money and the company has been around forever with great reviews. I kind of want to check out Jaylim since everyone here loves them. But out of the three I went to today, Patken was the winner by a landslide. Good luck :D

We met with Marco photography beautiful work not our style and personality. We met with imagine studios loved lia and her work is gorgeous. Met with silverfox beautiful work but I heard they are like a wedding factory and john the owner said he had 2 photographers in mind for our style, but we didn't like how we had no idea who they were and if they'd be the same people at the wedding. Loved Alexis stein but unfortunately their approach turned us off and then we met John from lennon photography. All I can say is amazing. His style, vision, personality matches what we want the more candid approach. A little more pricey but he was really willing to work with us def check out Lennon photography. His brother is a photographer in Michigan too so if you go to his page you won't be confused like I was lol.
