Visited a photographer yesterday...the first and possibly ONLY one we will be visiting (this was a surprisingly east decision to make)!!! The only issue..we aren't sure of which package to get. This is where I need everyones advice:
Do we get the more expensive package for 12 hours, 100 thank you cards (we'll need about double of that), and 8x8 parent albums? Or spend $800 less for 10 hours, no thank you's and 5x7 parent albums.
How has everyone moved forward with save the dates, and what does everyone expect to do about thank you cards? Do you think the extra 2 hours & 100 thank you cards are worth an extra 800 dollars?
Maybe we should just go with the less expensive package and upgrade if we feel necessary as the date gets closer.
Help!

Photography Package question!
Personally, I would go with the 10 hour package mostly because thank you cards are so easy to make on shutterfly, snapfish, etc., and for us 10 hours is more than enough since we're getting married at the RH and we are doing a first reveal. I think it depends on whether or not you think you need those extra two hours. If you go with the less expensive option you can always wait and see if you have extra $800 in your budget as time goes on... HTH!

I would go with the less expensive package now and upgrade later if you still feel the need to.

I agree with the other ladies. You can always upgrade, but they'll give you a hard time to downgrade. I wasn't going toget thank you cards, but it comes with my photogs package. And I did my own save the dates with our own pics.

Photography Package question!
I'd go with the less expensive package. My photographer doesn't go by hours. He said he's with me the 'whole day' but said he'll leave once the cake is cut. If you think about it, it's just more of the same shots of people dancing after they've been drinking the whole night. My FSIL's wedding photographer said the same thing.
Like other ladies have said, the thank you cards are easy to make. My photographer threw them in my package, but otherwise I would have made them on shutterfly. I've gotten some really nice thank yous from events I went to from shutterfly. I cut the parent albums out of my package. I'll make them myself and it saved me around $400.
I bought a groupon for save the dates. I paid $25 for $100 toward vistaprint. I've seen a good amount of deals on groupon and living social for those so I would wait for one of those to come around again. HTH!

I'd say less hours and handle the other stuff on your own.
With my photographer he's with me from 10am until 'the party ends' and I'm not doing any albums or anything like that. But we do get a print package. If you'd like I can FM you my photography package quote :)
the STDs and Thank You's can be easily made for a lot less on shutterfly/vistaprint/snapfish and it would be easier!

I'd definitely say the less expensive option. You can always make the thank you cards yourself. Especially if your ceremony is at the deception location, you will not need 12 hours.

I removed the thank you's from our photography package because it's so much easier & cheaper to make them ourselves with a different company! Good luck!
