I am going to meet with photographers this week and I have no idea what to expect. I only want a VERY BASIC package. I will not need parent albums or engagement photos. (We are both very camera shy.) I just want a very small album for my husband and I, and all the proofs. I am curious to know what is considered a 'fair' price for a basic package with only one photographer. Thanks!

I am not sure, but my photographer was Marcos Photography. The have all kinds of packages.

that's a very hard question to answer - it really depends on the photographer - some charge more because of creativity, some are bigger companies so they don't have to, etc.
It's really hard to give any type of estimate.

Why don't you go see Patken -- When I booked there they were very flexible (I wanted a relatively small package too -- small album, one parent album, etc) They will suggest a package thats right for you and swap out any items that you don't want for other things.

We went with patken. 43 picture album + 2 small parent albums and engagement shot ( relatively small package). With tax it came to about 2,700. Good Luck. This was a low to average proce fromt he places we checked.

im paying about the same as daisy bride for patken. i got a 30 pic album instead of 43, and instead got a bunch of other pictures for framing

Go to Patken..I checked out prices etc from so many different places..when Is aw Patken's pictures..I just assumed that I couldnt afford them..and was VERY pleasantly surprised that I could. Their prices are the best..they will work with you..I didnt want the parent albums either..and they work with whatever you want. I got the proofs in my package, the negatives 6 months after I pick up the album, a nice album, several other photos and it is less than 3,000. They are amazing ...really! Check em out! You also get a free engagemnt 8 x 10 along with it when you book. I also got 150 bucks towards more pictures , framing, etc. if I booked that day ..so keep that in mind as well!!
