Photography Question - I need your thoughts please

In between the ceremony and reception everyone is invited back to my parents house for champagne (for the holdover). Fi and I were thinking that instead of going to a location to take photos we would like to take pics around the neighborhood - my home town, it's where we met and we went to high school together etc. I have a photojournalistic photographer and a traditional photographer (my reception location has a garden for real formal pics if necessary). Do you think this is a good idea/doable? Any suggestions on how to work this? The photographers say it's fine - should I make a list of places or something (I mean, I just want the scenery of my town and maybe pics actually at the house and even at the in between party). I don't even know if I'm making sense at this point (sorry ). If you get what I'm talking about please tell me what you think and any suggestions you might have to help make this work. Thanks!

I think that's a really great idea!!! Your pictures are supposed to tell a story and your history is part of your story.

Makes total sense. You just want to decide before where exactly you want the pictures taken so you don't waste time driving around. We are doing the same thing. We want to take pictures at different places in the city b/c that is where we both grew up. We have tiem before teh reception so we will be hitting locations that I mapped out before hand.

I think thta si a great idea, just decide on where you wnat pictures form, so it will go smooth.

What a great idea. I would just make sure you get all the photos you want outdoors while you still have daylight.

I think it's a great idea!! Writing down locations would be a good idea - is there a place that is meaningful to you both? For instance, I went to HS in Sayville, and if I wanted Sayville pictures, I'd get some of me and my FH on the bay, in my backyeard near the cherry tree I loved, maybe a pic near the ferries.

Def. write down your ideas. I think your idea is great and makes the pics more memorable and personal.

I think it's a great idea too! Make a list of where you want to take pics and discuss with your photographer the number of places you can realistically go to without getting rushed.

I think it is a great idea. I love it! I would make a list though of where you want to take pictures so it keeps you on a schedule.

I love your idea - go for it!!! I think doing what your photographer suggested, making a list of places you want to go, would make it easier on you both.
