I think I've picked the photographer I want, but now I have package questions...
1. Do I really NEED 2 photographers? Are there brides who went with just 1 that regret it/are glad they did it? 2. How many hours before my ceremony do I want my photographer to start covering? When do I want coverage to end? 3. As far as albums go, my FH works as the director of a graphic arts studio and could probably have albums made for us through work for much cheaper. Is there anyone who just bought the actually photography and not albums? What di you think?

Re: Photography Questions
1. I don't think you NEED 2 photographers, but it's nice to have. I preferred it because one takes more candid shots and the other more photojournalistic.
2. My photographer told me when they would arrive. They do this for a living so they know when they should begin. But it is dependant upon if you are doing pictures before the ceremony. Coverage typically ends when the wedding ends.
3. I only bought an album for FH and I because I wanted the best for that. But I will be making the parent albums and any others we may need on mypublisher.com. Making albums yourself can save you tons.

i don't think you NEED 2 photographers. I guess it depends on your budget. If it sends you over what you wanted to spend on photo then you don't want to think that you should've saved the $$. I'm making my own albums. They are ridiculously expensive I have no problem making my own...I guess it just depends on what YOU really want...good luck!

Re: Photography Questions
you don't NEED 2 photographers....but while your main photographer is posing you, think of all the amazing candids the other will get without u even knowing!!!! you getting two different people's perspectives of your day... I used Thomaspaul and he only uses 2...doesnt charge more or less.... and i was SO happy about that! How early u want them there is completely a personel choice...i wanted pics of getting ready, so he came just about 2 hours before...and u can't even BELIEVE how fast that goes!!! there are many photographers that will just give u the photography and let u get ur albums elsewhere....but DEFINETLY talk to ur guy first...u dont wanna end up just not ordering an album, and then getting a cd or proofs with a copywrite over them! ANYWAYS, good luck!!!!

Re: Photography Questions
We're having 2 and I am so excited about that. One will be able to take pics of the guys getting ready, the other will be with me and my girls. There will be 2 perspective for everything...walking down the aisle, one will be on me and the other on FH, etc. And I love candid shots, so with 2 photographers they are more likely to capture all the really fun moments.
They start and end whenever you want (some just do all day, others you can book for like 6hrs, 8hrs, 10hrs, etc). We're doing pictures before the ceremony, so our photographers will be there at 9 when the stylist comes.
You never have to buy the albums from your photographer...aslong as they give you a CD or DVD with all of your high resolution pics. You could even have another photographer design the album if you wanted.

OK here's another question:
Given that most photographers post their past weddings/e-pics online - is there a need to go see the photographer in person before booking? I feel like I've been able to get pricing and a feel for the photographer's style online. Would it be foolish to book without meeting in person?

We didn't meet with ours in person, but thats just because we're not in the area. If we were, I'd probably want to meet in person, I think its easier to discuss things and see if your a good match. But if you already have a good opinion of them from the phone or whatever, then thats probably fine.

Re: Photography Questions
My personal opinion you MUST have 2, its also because my experience, I only have one and its not enough. Also when my boss got married at his wedding had 2 photographers and this people had also assistants and extra personal crew, well it was a big, big wedding at that moment I thought it was too much.
But now after my wedding I dont think in the same way, because it's only one special day, it our wedding. I regret that i didn't spend more $$$ in video and photos. Too late but I learned. ;-
And about the album, Im working now in mine, its gonna be cheaper and if your FH work in that area, good for you... Good Luck!
