I'm wondering how much do photographers request as a deposit when you sign the contract. Also, is said deposit refundable? I'm debating on using someone, but they're requesting a 50% non-refundable deposit and I was wondering if this is customary in the industry. Thanks!

Re: Photography/Video Deposit Question
I had to put down $500 for photography and $500 for videography- they're through the same company, and it's about 20% of the total balance.

Thanks gals for your resonses. As suspected, I think 50% is way too much up front.

50% sounds high to me up front.

Re: Photography/Video Deposit Question
For those of you that paid 50% up front. Was it refundable or non-refundable?
