Definitely start now. We booked out photographer a year in advance and a couple of weeks later his prices doubled, so you may get a better rate- and you don't have to worry about the person you want being booked.

It definitely would not be wrong!! Start looking!! You never know how long it will take you to find the right one and 2004 is already booking up. I am getting married in 2004 and I already have most of my vendors booked.

i'm getting married 5/15/04 and just booked our last week. our date was almost filled too! definitely start looking soon. July is a popular month!

It is never to early to start to look and book. I am getting married in September of 2004 and I have all my vendors already. I booked my photographer and DJ last April.

I looked back in December for my photographer for my April 2004 wedding and I actually had a couple tell me they were already booked on my day.
I was lucky to get Wild Rose because they already had someone else booked my day and they can only do 2 weddings at a time

Welcome to the boards! I agree with everyone else. I am getting married in April, 2004 and I have all my vendors booked. The good ones do go fast. Since you have time you do not have to settle.

It's never too early to shop around for the best deals and good quality vendors in the wedding business. I'd reserved our photographer 9-10 months advanced and our band was the second thing we'd reserved right after getting our reception venue.
While we were at our band's office watching videos of 4 different bands there was one band that sounded really good. The sales person received a phone call and came in to turn off the video of this band as another couple just booked them for the same exact wedding date as ours. That's how fast bands and DJ's were being booked!
