Photojournalistic No No!

Photojournalistic No No!

For many of our B2B I have a word caution.

Although photojournalism gives great candids..make sure you tell your photographer that you want some formal shots too.

One of my friends got married and basically has all these great candids of which I am insanely jealous lol but she does not have a great choice of photos of which to pick her TYs from. Also there is not that many formal shots of the Bp, her family, the grroms family together. So remember..tell the photographer that you want some formals as well.

that's only if you want them

i don't like posed shots and am keeping them to a 15 minute maximum...

but i agree, one should always communicate with the photographer likes and dislikes. a good photographer will keep that in mind and shoot accordingly. i personally think providing a detailed list of 'must haves' is counterproductive as the photographer will then be more concerned with satisfying those requests causing the image artistry to be compromised for the sake of the 'shot'...

I agree with you. That the list can be counterproductive with photojournalism.

But some people simply choose a photographer just on the look of the album...not aking any other questions...I think this is what happended to my firend and now she is trying to put her album together and choos Tys and the needed shits arnt there.

But they have some amazing pics of LA and the people enjoying the wedding.

FH wants the same thing. Personally, all the pics will br great regardless, but I wouldn't mind a couple of posed shots. I will definitely make it clear to the photographer what we want. 65% candid, 35% posed.

that's what is most important to me...

i may not even include a pic with my thank you, and i may go with a candid or an amateur shot, who knows...but definitely something people want to keep in mind!

We are doing a mix I think.
Some are getting the professional shot and others are gertting a photocollage which has a shot of me looking at Dh through my veil..which was a shot no photographer could have gotten unless he was sitting in the pews so photojournalism has very nice bebfits.

to keep it quick, one should designate a person to round up the troops accordingly. we are going to do all our formal shots at the church right after the ceremony so the BP and family know to stick around. we will get everyone together, click, click, click, then off to our cocktail hour!

For this reason, we hired a second photographer to take formal shots. Our main photographer specialty is photojournalism. Although we want mainly PJ, we still want some formal one's as well.
