Photojournalistic Photography
I KNOW I want a photographer with a photo journalistic style - do you ladies have any suggestions? I LOVE JayLim and Lighthouse but I was curious if there were others. Obviously budget friendly would be nice, but all suggestions are welcome! I'm not looking for anything fancy just two photographers, the images on a USB or a DVD, and the rights too all of the images. Thank you ladies!

I can't say enough good things about Lighthouse. Florio and Joe shot my wedding with Kurt as their assistant. They were incredibly creative and patient with us. They were on top of all of our must-haves and also went off and came up with their own things that ended up being some of my favorites!

Janelle Brooke is AMAZING. Literally everything I see from her looks like it came from stylemepretty. She's my dream photog but unfortunately she's way out of my budget with packages starting at 8K.

Brett Matthews has a very photojournalistic style. They include 2 photographers and a lighting guy for 10 hrs. Ask for Chris he's great with posing couples and making it seem candid. However, you wouldn't have the rights to your photos.

I am beyond obsessed with them and Florio is available for our wedding date I just wanted other opinions. How many images did you get back and how many edited ones?

Re: Photojournalistic Photography
Def check out Angel Project. TJ is extremely photojournalistic and artsy, which is exactly what I wanted. You can get a good sense of his style on their website. We are just having TJ work our wedding, but most of his packages include an assistant and/or videographer. FH and I are on a tight budget, but we still get TJ for 10 hours - and the rights to all of our photos. He can work with a limited budget - or you can get some amazingly extravagant packages.

No problem! Their photo packages start at 6500 for 10 hrs disc and album included. That price was last yr before they went up. Not sure how much it is now.

How many people are you having? We're a minimum of 150 and we recommended to have two. I definitely want two for the getting ready shots but if it's a significant price difference I will be fine with one for the reception. I briefly checked out his website and will have to contact him. Thank you so much. I can't wait to see your pictures. A few more days for you - congrats girl!

Re: Photojournalistic Photography
16 days - thank you!We are only having about 110 guests. What makes only having 1 photographer more doable is that both FH and I will be 'getting ready' at the Inn at Fox Hollow, right next door to the reception. Of course, we will be in different hotel rooms (me in our bridal suite, with my mom and MOH) and FH in another room with his GM. So, TJ only has to run up and down the stairs to get shots of both of us.

I think we will be doing the same as far as getting ready. Would you mind sending me FM with your quotes?

Definitely check out Ruby Star. They are a husband and wife team that do awesome photojournalistic photography. The wife is the resident photographer at the Paramount in Huntington so she is very good at capturing in the moment photos.

We got over 1800 photos. They are all amazing and I'm having the MOST DIFFICULT time picking the ones for our album. Florio was the first photographer we met with and I couldn't get him out of my head. He really cares about what he does and who he works with. Honestly, I would book him fast because he really is THAT amazing. My husband LOVED working with him and Joe on our wedding day and we have been getting the best compliments and feedback from everyone who has seen our photos.

We went with Fadetoblack! They are very affordable and so easy to work with! We went in with a budget of $6,000 for both photo and video and he gave us less than that, with two photographers for over 10 hours! And we also have rights to the pictures. He told us to just bring a flash drive with us the day of and he'll give us all of the raw footage that night!!

That's interesting. I called Fade to Black and got a quote of $2600 just for video.OP
I would look at true love photography in flushing queens. The price is close to JayLim.
Pricer options are David Cross and Peter Forman.
