yep, much lighter than our floors, which are oak. I think you can go with dark furniture. the contrast will look great!

If you do a search on Kathy116, she has dark wood furniture and light colored floors and her house looks great. The contrast works very well.

I don't know if these pics of the room downstairs help.....I have dark side tables which you really can't see and also have dark accessories in the wall unit.

I really love darker furniture on lighter floors - its a beautiful contrast.

on the topic though-- i Love contrasting wood colors.. i think it adds more dimension/ personality to the room.

i love the way different woods look togther. i think it looks more natural that way. have fun decorating

I have light floors and dark furniture.

My family room - the furniture is espresso ( a real early picture) -



My living room and dining room are a dark cherry furniture (the floor is lighter in person - same as picture above - the light in the room makes it look darker in pictures) -



This shows the floor better for the living room and dining room
