Photoshop Experts...I need help!!!

Does anyone know how to create that blurred/white edge look on Photoshop? I have been sitting here for hours trying to figure it out. I looked online and followed the directions, but it is not working.

do you have a mac or PC?

actually now that I checked I dont think it matters... I have CS 3 and this is how I do it

1. If the image is the background layer in your layers pallet...double click the layer to make it a reg layer.
2. Go to your gradient tool... First make sure your foreground and background colors are both set to white...with your gradient tool selected go up to the settings on the top of your screen (top left on mine) and make sure sure you have the following selected ... Foreground to transparent for the type (you click on the bar that shows the gradient type it should be the second one in) and also make sure you are on linear gradient and mode is normal
3. go to your photo and start from the outer edge in with your gradient tool. Dont go allll the way across the pic or you'll loose all your pic.. Id say around a 1/4 of an inch depending on how much you want blurred out. then do that for each side of the pic.

Select the area that you want to blur, go to FILTER on the pull down menu, then go to BLUR , selection MOTION BLUR. You can adjust the intensity of the blur using the slide bar.

I see! YOu want it faded not blurred. Very nice.
