I know I have asked this question over and over but I am so worried about booking. I keep thinking I might make the wrong choice. So how did you book your photo and video? Did you visit multiple places? Did you just go by recommendation? What should I look for when booking? I am really unsure of styles when it comes to photos. All I want is really nice pictures.
I feel completly clueless and I have to book these vendors fast. I am running out of time. I am also on a strict budget and cannot spend 5000 on both. I would love to spend 1500 for each. Is that even possible? I have an appt. with Nick's photo next week and I have emailed halo video also. Please help! I feel lost and dumb!!

Re: Photo/Video
I think when you meet with Nick next week, you will like his work and him also !!!! He is a great guy ... we are seeing him this weekend for our E pics ... I can't wait !!!!!! A lot of the other photographers out there charge a lot because of their overhead also ... Nick works on his own and does not have that overhead !!!!!! But in the end, you will make the final choice !!!!!!!!! Good Luck !!!!!!!!!!! Let us know what happens !!!!!!!!!

Re: Photo/Video
I looked at the photographer's websites and girls' albums on here. That is how I figured out the style I was looking for. I definitely found that there were some types of photos that were TOTALLY not my thing. That helped.
I wound up with Dan Wagner for many reasons. It was very important we felt very comfortable around the photog. since my FH gets very nervous around people we don't know.
We fell in love with HIM as a person, and of course, his work too.
FM if you need more info.

I'm not going to be a lot of help. We just went to Duet and we brought cash to the appointment. We knew we wanted them before even sitting down for the appointment.

We met with Sherwood Triart, Patken and a photo/video guy in Brooklyn. After 3 places we knew that ST was the only photo/video for us.

Re: Photo/Video
I was planning from OOT, so I looked at a lot of LIW brides proofs to get an idea of what I liked. I wasn't a fan of photographer websites because they pick and choose their favorites, while looking at people's proofs you get a better idea of what kind of shots they take. After looking at a lot you can really start to discern the different photographers styles.
Imagine Studios caught my eye (there arent as many brides using them because they are a husband/wife team, rather than a larger company with multiple photographers like Duet) and they were my first choice --- and my first appointment. Everything worked out pricewise and I loved Lia so we booked on the spot.
I also love Angelica Glass' work, but she's a bit too edgy for DH and I who are more traditional. look around on LIW and you can get some ideas!
$1500 for photo seems low, and I think photo is really important so you might be better off negotiating a package without any albums and making them yourself or through an outside vendor using shutterfly or a similar company, rather than sacrificing on the quality of oyur photos.

Re: Photo/Video
Try helen's wedding world not to be confused with the wedding center. They will be able to work in your budget and joe v is great. He took the photos at three of my cousins weddings and they also do video.
