I am looking into photographers/videographers and the prices are more expensive than I anticipated. I would prefer to spend $5500-$6500 on photo and video but so far, most places seem to be $7000-8000. Many of the more inexpensive places I happened to come across offer only photography, which leaves me looking for a videographer... but there's also a style difference. I want photojournalism AND portraits and some of the 'cheaper' places appear to have very posed and dated looking photographs. I wouldn't be happy with photos like that at all.
What are your recommendations? Who did you meet with and what were you quoted? What does that include?
for Photo... Definitely Ken Hild. For video... Pete at Wedding Cinema-- we're not using him but I wanted to (FH Veto'd video) Together they would be under your budget :)

Here's some photographers I found whom had very nice pics and were affordable very artsy Benchwerk Digitalreflection studio
If you kept your video and photo separate it will run you about 4500 to 5k for both. Hope this helps

Definitely check out lighthouse as well as capture the moment! I have quotes for lighthouse if you need and capture the moments prices are on their website and are very accurate :)
We're booked with Lighthouse for photo and Capture the Moment for Video and we're spending around $5600 total.
