i hear she's real good with alterations, so i think i'mma take my dress out to her.. any comments or is there anyone i should ask for? or is phyliss really the person who works there? does she also do cleaning? and storage?
any idea on her costs?

I used Phyllis last year when she was still called Gownfind. I had no problems with her and would definitely recommend her. However, just make sure you try on your dress each time, especially before you take it home for good. My sister didn't try on her BM dress and it was taken in too much. She was uncomfortable the whole night.
I think her alterations are capped at $250 but I am not sure about that one.

I was just there last night for my fitting. Phyllis is the owner, and she does the alterations. I don't know what her alteration cap is if you didn't buy your dress there, but she is raising her prices, effective July 31st I believe. So go see her soon.

i hated the seamstress at my bridal shop--and took my gown to phyliss for alterations---and she did an amazing job on it. when i first got my dress i wanted to cry cause it seemed like it would never fit right. by the time she was done---it fit like a glove!
ETA: i think her alt cap on girls who buy their dresses with her is $175. but my alt cap was about $230--that included a lot of alterations as well as a french bustle.

yeah i have a appt with her this sat. i know i am capped at 175 , which she quoted me in feb.

the alteration cap is now $300 (but they're still honoring the $175 from when I bought my dress), I was just there a week ago, and since they expanded the store they were telling me some of their costs went up b/c their overhead costs have also gone up. BM alterations cap is also now $75 (versus the $55 that I locked them in for back in February).

she told me it would be minimum 325. thats just ridiculous (i'm not even getting anything big done! just typical alterations) because i didnt buy my dress there. i didnt go to my appointment because i knew that was too high. i'm in the middle of looking for a new seamstress
