I'm thinking of hiring a pianist from a piano studio I used to teach at for our cocktail hour, but I'm not sure how much to charge for the hour. These are college students that are majoring in music/music education. What do you think would be a reasonable price to charge? I'm already spending a good amount on a DJ, string quartet, and Sinatra singer so I'm trying to keep this as low as possible! :)

Re: Pianist for Wedding - what to charge?
Well if you know the studio and have flexibility with them, why don't you ask them what they usually charge. Or even ask the students directly, and be honest. You don't wanna insult them and underpay, but them again you don't want to get srewed and pay too much. Good luck

If they are college students, I'm sure if you gave them like $100 they would be overjoyed to do it. But not sure if that was what you planned on spending.

Thanks for the feedback! $100 sounds reasonable, that was what I initially planned on giving. I know professionals charge anywhere from $400-$800, so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being cheap.
