Re: Picaboo Wedding ALbum Layout
that is totally kickass.... I was checking out mypublisher for our own album, what made you go with Picaboo instead? How is the interface? Great job, love the split photo backgrounds and the fades you did of your dress, beautiful!

Thanks! Tried to put my graphics background to use.
Well MyPUBLISHER was cheaper and I had coupons so was going to use them-I did for our parent albums cause had a buy one get one thingie. But I didnt like the layouts. They were very simplistic and I felt wouldn't allow me to create the kind of album I wanted. So i looked at Blurc.com which someone suggested but it ****** @$$-the software never worked for me right, though they ahd better layouts.
So I started doing my own layouts in Powerpoint like another bride suggested to just upload them to Mypublisher but was sooo much work and then one day i just happened across the Picaboo site. I liked how nicely it was laid out so did a few searches and found brides here who used it and liked it.
So gave it a whirl and its soooooo much easier to use. Upsides: * EASY to use-most of those layouts were theirs and I just used one picture for the background and then arranged others. *FREE backgrounds- for wedding albums or whatever other kind you might like, they offer you free backgroundds-hundred of them-to correlate to the theme. Its awesome. * Nicer book options: They have linen covers and leather covers. We got the padded leather cover-looks really good-much more professional. * Great quality *50% off coupon for the first book you make which even though the books are more expensive, make that first one come out to about the same price as one from MyPublisher.
Downsides:
*NO editing options really-like no black and white and no auto adjustement,. You can make em brighter but its more difficult to judge. You're using a scale thing. *Smaller book sizes-not the large formats in MP or Blurb. only 8.5 by 13 or something like that. *More expensive than MYPublisher. The books themselves are about the same but then per extra page its $1.99 vs $.99. * you can only contact them via email not through a phone number though if you have a tech issue you can have them call you after doing a chat thingy-they did it for me. But they do respond to emails pretty fast. Have to give them that.
Interface? Not sure what you mean. Ease of use? I mean its SOOO easy. ANYONE and I do mean that, can use this program. Blurb would have been ok ahd it worked and MyPublisher people find easy but it busted my chops a little.

Thanks so much for all the info... by interface I meant like is it easy to navigate and pretty straight forward (which you totally said it was.) I've read really mixed reviews from MyPublisher on epinions but I will definitely check out Blurb and Picaboo now.... do you use a mac or a pc?
