I was very amazed I got my FH to help with his first thing - choosing our colors! We went with candy-apple blue and black. (his 2 faves) I was hoping for a cranberry red, but since I don't expect him to have much of an opinion on anything, I figured im flexible on the color issue and he could pick. (He would be just as happy with a backyard bbq and some beer, but since i was little i always wanted something a bit more than that...)
So i was wondering - has anyone else used those colors? any pics of favors, bm dresses, ideas, etc using those colors?

Candy-apple blue is kind of like candy apple red - but not red. My FH is a HUGE car guy, and 'candy-apple blue' is a very popular car color, especially on custom cars. an example of the color would be the ic i posted below. He is specific about this blue type of blue, though, instead of like sky blue, dark blue, or soemthing like that. (those who are familiar with crayola crayons may remember the color called 'cerulean' - this is kinda like that...)

Oh, right, I've heard of that--I don't think it's actually used as a color name other than with cars, though. The candy-apple part more refers to the finish, not the color. People (guys, of course) loved the depth of color and shine in candy-apple red so much they tried to replicate it with other colors, like with blue. The candy-apple red finish came first, of course. But if you try to find anything wedding-related using 'candy-apple blue' as your descriptor you might have a hard time.

Yeah I know its not used as that color name anywhere else. It's just kind of hard to describe by saying anything other than that. (then again I guess mst of the people i deal with are car people, so that would explain why saying things like 'cerulean' or 'bright blue' don't usually work. i must admit i do like the candy-apple finish, though, and have seen that type of finish in places other than cars, so even though I know i won't get dresses (or other fabrics, for example) in that color, i know there are things I can use for centerpieces, favors, decorations, etc.
