Picked Our Readings (Yup, We're Super Productive Tonight!)

Picked Our Readings (Yup, We're Super Productive Tonight!)

We are having an interfaith (Jewish-Catholic) ceremony with an interfaith minister. We're incorporating FH's Jewish traditions with the breaking of the glass and the blessing over and sharing of the wine. My two traditions are the unity candle and readings.

We picked the standard 'Love is patient, love is kind' and also this great passage from Corelli's Mandolin by Louise De Bernieres. I put the text below for anyone who may be looking for a secular reading.

'Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion... That is just being 'in love,' which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.'

I love it...it's beautiful Eileen - thanks so much for sharing!
We're also doing Corinthians (Love is patient...and kind) I love that verse!
Yeay - it feel so real once you map out the ceremony, doesn't it?

Best wishes,
Sasha

How beautiful! And I like how you are incorporating a little of both religions.
