I picked up my dress last night!!! So it's now hanging at home, ready for this weekend. FH is under strict orders not to peak!
What a nightmare getting it home from RK Bridal in the city. I decided to take LIRR--bad idea. I should have taken a cab home. The train was packed, no one would switch seats with me (when I got on there were aisle seats, but none next to the window). Some guy pointed out something in the vestibule I could hang it on. Then they were announcing that all trains would terminate in Bayside, and I was wondering how I'd get it home from there. But everything worked out, and it's home, and safe!
Question--the shop told me to leave it in the bag until Friday (day before my wedding). What did you guys do, leave it in or take it out? I'm concerned about the hem wrinkling in the bag, but it would be worse if something spilled on it.

Yet another reason to hate the LIRR - not bride friendly !
Congrats though... If I took it out of the bag I would end up wearing it around the house. If you have a bit more self control, then you should probably do what the shop said

ok...i got my dress home in DECEMBER!!!! DO you know how hard it is NOT to walk around the house in it????
actually i want to try it on again tonight..you girls have got me in the mood..I hope I beat Fh home *hehe*

what my friend did, was hang it up and then she put a sheet over it. This way it hung freely instead of bein stuffed in a bag and it was protected from dirt. Personally, I would take it out of the bag.
When I picked mine up they said to take it out of the bag, turn it so the front was facing the bag and lay out the train on a towel or sheet so it wouldnt wrinkle.

I have a sweep train, so it's not very long. It's hanging on the back of a closet in a far corner of the living room right now.
What I will do is look at the bottom today and see if it's wrinkling. If it is, I'll take it out. and hang a sheet over it as someone suggested. I do want to put in on, but I'm afraid I'll tear something or get it dirty.
At least FH won't see it unless he peeks with the sheet. Thanks for your suggestions!
