I need to pick up my dress (YAY) from RK Bridal in the city. The hrs don't work for me but FH can pick it up on his way home from work (it will be in a garment bag), but he would have to take it on the LIRR. It is only a 30 min ride and he could probably hang it up but is this crazy? Anyone else done this?
Thanks!

I haven't picked mine up yet, but when I do, I'm going to be taking mine home on the subway. There's just no other way unless I take a cab back to Brooklyn (there's no way I'm driving into the garment district to get mine!)....
I brought it to the place I'm getting mine altered on the subway so I don't think it's that big a deal to bring it home that way as long as it's bagged properly.
Sorry I can't be more help. Looking forward to others' answers.

I picked up my BM dresses and took them on the subway. It really wasn't that bad-- and the LIRR is much better than the subway.
However, would you want to inspect the dress before you take it home to make sure everything is how and where it is supposed to be. If so, I imagine you would have to be there when picking up!

The person doing my alterations is only there during the week. But maybe I could have my dad drive into Manhattan and help me out with it. I have a car but there wouldn't be anywhere to park or even stop around there.
Guess that's what I get for going to a friend of a friend's place in the garment district for my alterations. I love how it's going though so no real complaints here!

I think you will be fine if the dress is in a bag!

I took mines home on the train and it wasn't bad at all but then again my mother was sweet enough to carry it for me most of the way. My dress was lighter than I thought it would be though. Your FH should be fine.

There actually is a pay parking lot on that block. So you could park it there...

won't you have to try it on one last time before taking it out of the store?
