Pics and mini review from our Costa Rica Honeymoon!

Hey ladies!!! Here are some pics from our honeymoon in Costa Rica! We also spent 4 nights at the Polynesian in Disneyworld. It was great, and I would highly recommend it to anyone! Then we spent 7nights at Paradisus Playa Conchal, an all-inclusive resort in Guanacaste, Costa Rica (Tamarindo airport). We had a pretty good time at the resort, I would definitely recommend upgrading to Royal Service if you are going on your honeymoon. However I would not recommend booking paid tours through the Royal Service Lounge (concierge) because they are overpriced. The locals at the beach can get you the same tours cheaper, or the main lobby if you are more comfortable is cheaper! We thought the food was just ok, but most everyone else honeymooning there seemed to like it, so maybe we just have a high standard! It wasn't awful, but wasn't good at all. The best part was the sun and the amazing animals!! There were howler monkeys along the beach. We rode and galloped horses along the beach, did jet skiis, and took a sunset boat ride which was free through the resort. I would recommend that for sure!

Looks and sounds like it was incredible! Sorry you didn't love the food but everything else sounds perfect!

I love the little kitties...I would be stowing them away in my bag and trying to bring them home!!! Everything looks amazing!

The lady actually told me that a lot of people DO bring them home to the States! She said they have to go through a process of course, of getting shots etc. but people do it all the time! I wish that happened more. As an animal lover it was very difficult to see these little tiny kitties by the pool area, starving. They have no access to fresh water, and are forced to basically dehydrate in the Costa Rican sun. They drink the pool water. On like, our second or third day there, we saw this British guy (young couple, mid twenties) throw rocks at the tiny cat and hit it, then start kicking it and throwing water at it. They were emptying cups of water all over, it was just a scene. I freaked out. Mike (DH) had to practically pull me back, but I just walked really slowly past them and gave them a real long filth eye, then went into the Royal Service lounge and consumed ice cold bellinis and vented in Spanish to the butlers about karma and people mistreating animals and how disgusting they are. About 3 bellinis later I was starting to feel better lol. Then later in the trip, one of the tiny little pool kittens was screaming, literally, SCREAMING (if anyone has cats or kittens you know the difference between meowing and this). I started feeding it capfuls of my water bottle because that's all I had. Poor thing drank half my bottle of water. Then we stole some steak from the lunch buffet to bring to them. We were in the hotel room up in the building, and we heard more loud meows, I opened the door and the tiny kitty was at our room! She ran right in our room and we fed her the steak and a bowl of water. Then her mom came looking for her, and she was pissed! The cats do not go into the building at all, as far as we saw. We brought the kitten back out, and the mom followed and we gave her some steak too, outside. I wanted to take them ALL home. It was very sad for me. Here are some pics of the little kitty in our room! She was adorable. I just wanted to add that the guy that kicked the cat and threw rocks at it had left food plates right on the ground in his cabana. What do you expect? You're paying for Royal Service, there is a guy ATTENDING to you, and you can't say 'excuse me, we're done, would you mind taking our plates away?'. No you'd rather leave them on the ground where all sorts of animals at the resort will wander over, and then you throw rocks at them and your disgusting girlfriend throws her waters all over the ground trying to get them to scram. Nice. Karma's a biatch buddy. Vent over.

YES!! On the way there Mike had to drug me with Valium because I was BUGGING out sitting in the tiny room on the tarmac that is the gate. On the way back it wasn't so bad, I just can't look out the window, because the thought of how tiny the plane actually is when it's flying really freaks me out!! Very nerve racking! DH took a video of the plane ride there, I'm like clutching my chest!

Hahahaha! Legs... I would have been the exact same way. I would have been leaving them food all over the place. and bowls of water too!
that guy and his girlfriend are both horrific people! I dont like that sh*t either!
